Apple has released a minor update to Big Sur – macOS 11.2.1. The focus is entirely on bug fixes and optimizations, so you can not count on new features and other fun.
One of the bugs fixed with macOS 11.2.1 caused the Macbook Pro from 2016 and 2017 to prevent the battery from charging properly. Apple also fixes a serious vulnerability in the tool Sudo.

If macOS 11.2.1 is a tiny update, the previous update boasts 11.2 with at least a few more system fixes. Not many more, but it’s definitely a major update.
Note that none of them solve the problem that the upgrade to Big Sur can force your computer to a complete reinstallation.
The update is easy to install. Go to About This Computer> Software Update…> Click the button to download the update (or restart the computer).
The update with macOS 11.2.1 weighs in at 2.43GB and is out today. Read more about Apple’s updates on the official support page here.
