Apple has released the update with macOS 11.2.2 “Big Sur“. The update focuses entirely on bug and security fixes, so do not expect major changes.

One of the bugs that Apple fixed with 11.2.2 meant that specific accessories such as hubs and docking stations could damage newer Macs. Among other things, later models of Macbook Pro and Macbook Air.

The accessories that can damage Macs are connected via USB-C and are not officially compatible. This applies to computers from 2019 onwards.
Older models, however, are not affected.
macOS Big Sur 11.2.2 prevents MacBook Pro (2019 or later) and MacBook Air (2020 or later) models from incurring damage when connected to certain third-party, non-compliant powered USB-C hubs and docks.
