A new Battlefield has finally been confirmed and shown, but best of all, it will be released in just a few months.
Just as EA and DICE had promised, they have now finally told us what the next Battlefield will be and this time it will be modern time with a little touch of the future when it comes to vehicles, weapons and equipment.
But a new Battlefield also means a lot of news, among other things we will be able to play in Battlefields with up to 128 players, but this only applies to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. If you play on PS4 or Xbox One, you have to settle for 64 players and smaller maps to play on.
Conquest game mode which is perhaps the most popular and where the big battles happen has been redone. Instead of taking over flags, in Battlefield 2042 you have to take over different sectors, one sector can contain several “clusters”, so to take over an entire sector you must have taken over each cluster. This may make the game a little more balanced, but the battles will probably be as chaotic as before.
Another great news is that DICE has chosen to scrap the different classes completely and instead run on different specialists who will have different abilities that all have their advantage in one way or another. We already know that at the launch there will be ten different specialists, but this is something that DICE will launch more of in the future.
Battlefield 2042 will have seven different maps at launch night:
- Manifest
- Orbital
- Discarded
- Renewal
- Hourglass
- Breakaway
- Kaleidoscope
The game modes that we know about right now are Conquest and Breakthrough, but more are in the works that we are guaranteed to see and hear about more soon. DICE has been clear that they are not working on a Battle Royale mode, but instead a new one that they call Hazard Zone, exactly what it is we will see in the future.
Battlefield 2042 looks very interesting, now we just hope that the long wait has been worth it. What is perhaps most surprising is that Battlefield 2042 will be released already on October 22nd this year. Battlefield 2042 will then be released for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series and Xbox One.
Beets are planned for July, but already on June 13, we will see gameplay from the game for the first time.
