Cyberpunk 2077 version 1.2 is delayed – released in mid-March

CD Projekt Red announces that Cyberpunk 2077 will not receive its long-awaited update to version 1.
2 in February as planned. Instead, the update is postponed a bit to the future – to mid-March as it looks today.

  • Hacker attack caused the game studio to lose time
  • Version 1.2 is larger than all other updates
  • CD Projekt Red was forced to restore internal systems

The update to version 1.2 for Cyberpunk 2077 is the second of two major fixes promised by CD Projekt Red. The first was released in January, with the promise that the other would be launched in February.

According to CD Projekt Red, the delay is due to it hacker attack that caused the source code of Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher 3 and more games leaked.

The game studio immediately began the process of restoring the systems and decrypting the data to resume work. But a lot of time was lost and it has affected the launch window for upcoming updates.

We’ve been working on numerous overall quality improvements and fixes, and we still have work to do to make sure that’s what you get.

Another reason why the update is delayed is that version 1.2 is significantly larger than all previous updates to Cyberpunk 2077.

There is currently no exact date for when the update can be released. The closest we know is around the middle of March.
