Malmö will be the first municipality to offer students and staff free oral protection in schools. Experts believe, however, that children should absolutely not wear the protection for long periods of time as it risks leading to lack of oxygen and brain damage.
It was the Moderates and the Center Party who came up with the initiative to distribute free mouth protection to staff and students – a proposal that was supported by the entire political opposition in the municipality, ie all parties except L and S.
Furthermore, they also want teachers and preschool staff to be vaccinated during working hours.
