Problems with no sound to Google Nest Hub & Hub Max

Google Nest Hub users have noticed that the smart screen has audio issues. More specifically, there will be no sound at all.

Google has announced that they have identified the problem and are working on a solution. At the same time, there is a quick fix for you who are affected and do not want to wait for Google.

Hey everyone, Just a quick update. Our team is aware of this issue and is currently looking into the issue at hand. We appreciate everyone for providing all the information needed, and this will be shared with the team.

The problem occurs on all variants of Nest Hub and also with the latest software at the time of writing. Some say that the problems started with the winter update, but it differs a little from person to person.

Some say that the sound does not work at all, others that it ends completely sporadically. User Ruud Kloosterman on Google’s official forum says he can listen to the news in the evening, but that the alarm clock does not play in the morning.

While Google is working on a solution, you can try restarting your Nest Hub or Hub Max.

Some users say it helps them at least temporarily to get the sound back. Since it is not a permanent solution, you may notice that the problem recurs fairly quickly.

To help Google resolve this issue, you can submit a bug report via voice command:

  1. Say “Hey Google, send feedback”
  2. Use the keywords: “GHT3 Nest display no sound.”
