The enhancements in Diablo 2: Resurrected

Diablo 2: Resurrected is a revised version of the original from the year 2000.

This means that Blizzard has not completely redone the entire game. But instead, just like EA did with Mass Effect Legendary Edition, they have modernized and spruced up the game for modern computers, monitors and game consoles.

What this means is, among other things, the following:

  • Support for 4K resolution with 60 fps
  • High resolution graphics
  • Surround sound in Dolby Surround 7.1
  • Support for up to 8 players in co-op
  • Cross-platform support across multiple platforms

If you do not want to play in high-resolution graphics, you can reduce the resolution to 800 × 600 as the original Diablo 2 managed. A little retrogaming for those who want it.

Open beta in August

Blizzard has announced that they are releasing a so-called open beta for anyone to try Diablo 2: Resurrected.

The beta version will be released in August and allows you to preview all five classes before the game is actually released.
