Tonight Apple released watchOS 7.4 Beta 3 for the registered developers. The new beta can be downloaded and installed immediately. watchOS 7.4 is due to appear in the spring and, among other things, offers the option of unlocking an iPhone with Face ID despite the mask.

watchOS 7.4 brings new unlocking options for the iPhone

The third beta of watchOS 7.4 appears two weeks after the distribution of the previous test version. With the update to watchOS 7.4, Apple brings the option of unlocking an iPhone even if the user is wearing a mask but still wants to use Face ID. The unlocked Apple Watch must be worn on the arm and iOS 14.5 must be installed on the iPhone. However, you cannot make payments via Apple Pay in this way.
