Already on March 8 OnePlus is expected to present its new mobile phones in the OnePlus 9 series. We can expect at least one base model in the OnePlus 9 and possibly a slightly sharper OnePlus 9 Pro model.
There is also talk of a more stripped-down, cheaper variant called the OnePlus 9R.
According to previous information, the difference between the two models is at least the screen size, the screen resolution and the speed of the wireless charging.
The processor is also expected to differ. OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro are expected to get a Snapdragon 888 processor, 9R only a Snapdragon 865. However, it is unclear at the time of writing exactly what the differences are.
We already know that Hasselblad probably manufactured or at least assisted in the manufacture of the camera optics to the new mobile phones.
Whether it has a major impact on image quality remains to be seen.
OnePlus has lagged far behind on the camera front and it is clear that the manufacturer has focused on just that part. Not least, it is noticeable in the message on Twitter where OnePlus CEO Pete Lau hints at good optics in his lunar image.
