Why Most People Use LED Lights as compared to Bulbs

If you’ve found yourself in the market for new lightbulbs recently, you’ve likely faced what seem like infinite options. With everything from LEDs to CFLs, some of which are advertised as “energy efficient” but with different brands and models, it can be difficult to find the right bulb. But one thing that many people don’t realize is that there are in fact some very important differences between the various options. And perhaps most importantly, why you should choose LED lights over other popular energy-saving options.

LED lights are more expensive than a few years ago, but they still far more affordable than they were in the past. And even when compared to CFLs, LEDs still offer a cost savings over the long term, but also come with some additional benefits.

The most important thing to understand is that an LED lightbulb is not a replacement for a regular incandescent bulb. If you want to use an existing bulb, then you should definitely go with a regular incandescent bulb. They are better than any alternative, but they still emit heat and non-LED light.

LED lights on the other hand don’t make your house more expensive; in fact compared to other forms of lighting they are far less expensive as well. The most important thing to realize is that an LED lightbulb is not a replacement for a regular incandescent bulb.

Why my opinion goes to lightbulbs?

In a single word: many! However, here are three of the most well-known:

Incandescent bulbs are the “traditional” bulbs that many of us remember from our childhood. They are inefficient in terms of energy use and have a short lifespan.
Compact fluorescent lightbulbs (CFLs) – When we think about energy-efficient bulbs, we often think of “spiral” bulbs.
LEDs – LED lights are extremely energy efficient while retaining the appearance and feel of incandescent lighting.
Different quantities of energy are required by incandescent, CFL, and LED lights. LED lights, on the other hand, are what we believe you should be paying attention to.

How the LED is Differ from the incandescent?

When we say “ordinary lightbulb,” we’re referring to an incandescent bulb, which has been in use since Thomas Edison patented his design in 1879. When electricity passes through these bulbs, the filaments glow, creating both heat and light.
LEDs, on the other hand, use electrons to make photons, or visible light. Photons produce very little heat. LEDs also use a lot less energy and last a lot longer than incandescent lights to provide the same amount of brightness.

What is CFL bulbs?

Because of how they create light, CFL bulbs are also more efficient than incandescent lights. “In a CFL, an electric current is pushed through a tube containing argon and a tiny quantity of mercury vapour,” according to Energy Star. This produces invisible ultraviolet light, which activates a fluorescent coating on the interior of the tube (called phosphor), which eventually releases visible light.”

CFLs are known for being dull at first and taking a long time to warm up to full brightness. However, once the power inside them is turned on, LED bulbs consume around 70% less energy than incandescent lights. As a result, they’re not as efficient as LEDs and have a shorter lifespan.
